Back in Phoenix; Time For R & R
Even though the business travel this month was not as arduous as usual, and there were only 3 cities, I’m still extremely fatigued after my first night back home here in the Phoenix area. All of the hotels I stayed at, while on the inexpensive, budget side, were very comfortable and offered nice amenities for their fees.
Perhaps it was all of the baseball I was able to take in? No, I think that is not possible! While I did attend more games this month than I have in a while, most of them were spent entertaining clients and their family’s in some cases.
Maybe it was that entertaining that really got me extra tired. You always have to be on guard and at the top of the sales game when you have customers out for a night (or day game!) on the town. But you come to expect this as a part of the process of being a traveling salesperson who spends the majority of their time on the road.
So for the next week or so, I am planning on doing my office work in the late morning to mid afternoon. I’ll do all this inside while it’s the hottest out in the Arizona sunshine. During the earliest morning hours and where needed into the early evening I am hoping to get some physical labor put into some of the many projects that have been hanging out on my To Do list for quite some time.
One right at the top of the list is finishing the cleanup from the damage that was caused when my hot water heater died a few months ago. The landlord was great about having the new tank installed. He even made sure his investment in nearly brand new carpeting was protected by having a water extraction team completely dry out the carpet and its padding underneath.
There was a number of other cosmetic issues which needed to be tended to and I’ve just been kind of lazy and have put it off. Well, this coming week to 10 days is my time to get those items checked off the list. If I’m diligent about it, I hope to get enough done to be able to catch the first couple of home games next week down at the Diamondback’s ballpark. Yup, more baseball. Don’t hate me!
Take Me and My Clients Out To the Ball Game
The flight into Chicago from San Diego was pretty uneventful. You know that for me uneventful is just the most perfect way to travel. Business travelers like myself do so much moving around that everything which happens tends to get magnified and multiplied. Late departures usually put everything else out of sync. Baggage claim delays [...]
San Diego Budget Hotels Have Made My Weekend GREAT!
Fortunately my choice of San Diego budget hotels offered me the option of choosing a Gas Lamp destination for my week here in Southern California. The All Star game had most of live baseball locked up for the first part of the week. Games resumed all around the league starting Friday. By staying in the [...]
Did You See That Amazing All Star Game?
I’ve been in San Diego since early Sunday evening. Having spent nearly a week in Houston I was ready to move on to my next destination, sunny southern California.
Not sure if I’ve mentioned on this site since I started doing this blogging thing that I used to live in San Diego. All over San Diego [...]
Becoming a Travel Agent Saves More Money
If you are planning on heading over to Texas this summer or early fall, be sure to do your travel planning early enough. There are a slew of discount hotels in Houston that will save you money without costing you comfort. Being able to get the most for your travel budget is one of the [...]
Closing the Deal at a Baseball Game
This month I’m only stopping in 3 cities. As such, I was able to pack a bit lighter than normal, and have been able to move around the traveling spots much easier than when I have that extra baggage to carry along. I was sure to do some extra research during my scheduling time and [...]
Happy Birthday America!
Okay, so I pretty much slacked off on finishing up my travel scheduling this weekend. But to my defense, it was a holiday weekend, and there were home baseball games to be seen!
I was able to catch the Diamondbacks on Friday and Sunday, a home stand against those pesky in-division Los Angeles Dodgers. It was [...]
Back Home To Phoenix in Time For the Diamondbacks
Wow! I’ve finally made it home to the Phoenix airport and have to say that I am glad to have a few days off. Getting into Corpus Christi was like trying to pry my way into a clam. One that new it was going to get cooked just as soon as it opened up!
I suppose [...]
Thank Goodness For Soundproof Walls!
Normally I don’t associate economy hotels with sound proof rooms. And I can hardly use last night as an example of whether the rooms are quite enough or not. Seems like everything that could go wrong getting out of Miami did go wrong. Waiting in the terminal nearly an hour past the stated boarding time.
Then, [...]
Cannot Wait To Be At Live Baseball All Weekend!
Okay, you have my permission to call me a gluten. In my quest to see as much Major League Baseball as possible this summer, I have been scouring the Internet for all sorts of budget hotels, rental car discounts (my favorite place to save on car rentals!), and the best values in food and dining [...]
