All Business Travel Hotels Should Have Shuttle Services
The other day I very briefly talked about some of the things I look for when I book myself into business travel hotels. One of those things was the concept of a hotel providing shuttle services to and from the airport.
While this is not a huge, big stickler of an item for me, it really does make me happy when I am able to hop off the plane and right onto the bus that takes me to my hotel room.
After you’ve traveled going on 15 years, you just find yourself getting into habits that you really don’t like to break. I learned long ago that I am much more effective when I’m making sales presentations after I’ve had a nice, quality night’s sleep.
As such, I do everything I can to get into town the day before I am to be in front of customers and potential clients. This simply allows me to be fresh and fully focused on the clients needs and how I’m able to provide them with the best solutions for their current needs.
With that in mind, I’ve seen my success rates dramatically increase when I don’t have to rent a car at the airport and then rush right into a business meeting. Sure it happens from time to time. Often there is just nothing I can do to schedule the appointments to better fit my desires. But those times definitely tend to be exception now days.
So when I’m able to fly into town and take the business hotel shuttle there are less demands on my time, patience and energy. What I tend to do is go directly to the hotel, check-in and then proceed to review my sales notes for the clients I’ll see the next day.
Perhaps I pour too much time and energy into creating my set ways, however, I have done things both ways and my results clearly support my preferred travel methods.
Do you have certain little quirks or tendencies that you prefer not to break? Would love to hear some other points of view on this concept.
Have a great weekend, by the way!
