Checking Out Albuquerque Weather Via Google
It’s not uncommon for a business hotel that I stay at to have some sort of bedside clock radio that tells me the time in the middle of the night as well as waking me up to smooth jazz first thing in the morning. Yeah, I like the easy listening stuff. But not that elevator stuff. What’s it called? Oh, I think Musak. Or is it Muzak? Ugh on that.
Well, something I really wish was sort of standard fare in hotel rooms would be a weather information device. Even if they were just the type that hangs on the wall and lets you know barometric pressures, temperature, and such. Of course, my guess is most people have very little knowledge as to how to read those types of gauges. Oh, well.
But the next best thing is free WiFi. How’s that you ask? Well, I just went online and pulled up Google in my browser. For the fun of it, I decided to just enter “Albuquerque weather” to see if the pages that showed up would link me straight to whatever that website’s New Mexico section might have for me.
Not that I’m lazy or anything, but some of these weather sites can get somewhat confusing. You have to either type in a zip code or know how to correctly spell an awkward city (hmm, I wonder if Albuquerque fits into that category? 
)
So, I type in “Albuquerque weather” and hit enter (because I have learned after years of clicking on the submit button that I only have to hit enter on my keypad!)
BOOM!
Right there at the top of the page of results is the current “Weather for Albuquerque, NM” (I’m guessing they think that is the Albuquerque I wanted. It was!)
Sunny and 86 degrees. Nice. And with a single click I’m taken right to the proper page at my choice of the 3 leading weather websites. Now I know that tomorrow and Thursday are going to be just about the same, with a few more clouds in the sky. No rain for days (not since last weekend, apparently.)
You just have to love technology. When it works, that is!
